This sample tour takes you through the land of ellipses.
You will encounter in turn a property, examples of the property, a proof of the property, and exercises about the property. If you'd like more information about how a mathematician might have thought of the property, take a side street by clicking on the Derivation button. For a discussion of limitations of a proof or derivation, and for further questions, detour to a critique. At any time you can click on the appropriate button and detour to an index page of properties, of term definitions, of problems, or of historical periods.
Tour guides cannot be responsible, however, for your safe return to the tour. You may need to use your browser's Back button a good bit. You can always start over at the Introduction page.
Enjoy your site seeing!
